Dr. P. Arnold

Pauline Arnold studied Manual Therapy at SOMT University, and graduated in 1997. In 2002 she started her academic education at Utrecht University, where she graduated with honors as Clinical Health Scientist in 2006, specialized in Physiotherapy sciences. Afterwards, she started as a part-time professor at the SOMT University Manual Therapy program, and supervised exam candidates on their graduation research.

She became a member of the curriculum committee in 2008, and helped develop the Master program. In 2013 she accepted the position of Head of the Geriatric Physiotherapy Master program, and started her PhD trajectory at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In the Frailty in Ageing Research (FRIA) group of Prof. Dr. Ivan Bautmans, she researched muscle activation and recruitment in relation to ageing and inflammation. She finished her PhD in 2018, focused on researching elderly living at home and hospitalized elderly, as well as a systematic review, which was mentioned in four publications in Q1 peer-reviewed magazines.
